Decent, but not perfect

They say you get what you pay for, and that holds true here. I’d hoped to save a little money and picked these up to use in place of my Sakura Micron pens. They are definitely inferior. The smaller tips — 005 and 01 especially — are noticeably thicker than with the Sakuras, and the ink flow seems less precise and heavier, making it hard to get a really crisp, fine line that’s consistent throughout a sketch. That said, the ink is a very nice dark black, and it does appear to be waterproof and doesn’t smudge. I think these pens will be perfectly adequate for work that doesn’t need to be super fine and/or really precise.

With only 3 years of experience under my belt drawing, I felt it was time to finally get true artist pens instead of using the ones I had been getting from the 99 cent store. You see, the pens at the 99 cent store work great, but the ink takes forever to dry and I kept ruining my artwork by smudging them thinking the ink had dried. These dry QUICK and since I got them I haven’t ruined a single drawing. From ultra fine tip or something you could do calligraphy with, it’s a great set of pens. I’ll definitely be back to re-stock when I finish with these.
